Description

With Georg Jensen's Bernadotte electric kettle, you can boil water for tea with Scandinavian elegance. The 1.5-litre kettle features a practical 360° detachable base, a soft-opening lid, a removable limescale filter and a double-walled construction that keeps water hotter for longer after boiling.

The Bernadotte collection is a true Scandinavian design icon, and even today one of the most popular Georg Jensen collections. The elegant collection is named after its original designer, the Swedish Prince Sigvard Bernadotte. The first products in the collection were designed in the 1930s when the functionalist movement heavily influenced the design world. Characteristic to both the era and the designer, Bernadotte beautifully combines practicality with clean-lined elegance. Bernadotte is the perfect choice for all design enthusiasts who value quality and beautiful, timeless design.

Sigvard Bernadotte

Swedish prince Sigvard Bernadotte (1907–2002) was an internationally renowned designer, illustrator and industrial designer. In 1929, Bernadotte attended the Stockholm Exhibition, which marked the breakthrough of functionalism led by Gunnar Asplund. This experience inspired him to adopt the ideals of functionalist design in his own work. Soon after, Bernadotte began a long and successful collaboration with Georg Jensen, where the influence of functionalism was reflected in the brand’s modern silverware designs.

The kettle is beautiful. However, for the high price, I would have expected better workmanship. The button for opening the lid feels cheap, and even after several weeks of use, the kettle still has a slight chemical smell!
