Vipp’s story began by chance – and because of love. In 1939, Danish metalworker Holger Nielsen crafted the first pedal bin for his wife Marie’s hair salon, unaware that he was creating a future design icon. Named after the Danish word vippe (“to tilt”), the bin soon found its place in salons, clinics, and eventually homes across Denmark. More than 80 years later, Vipp remains a family-owned company, which is now led by Holger’s children and grandchildren. The collection has grown from bins to bathroom accessories, furniture, lighting, and even complete kitchens. Yet, the philosophy has stayed the same: simplicity, function, and timeless craftsmanship. Every Vipp piece is made to last and to make everyday life beautifully effortless.
