Marjatta Metsovaara

Marjatta Metsovaara is known in Finland especially for her colorful printed patterns, but internationally, Metsovaara's name is more associated with industrially woven interior textiles. Well-known hotels such as the Hilton and Four Seasons, as well as numerous public buildings ranging from the Berlin Philharmonic to the White House, have been covered in jacquard fabrics designed by Metsovaara. When travelling on Belgian and Dutch railways or British Airways planes, you may have sat on seats upholstered with Metsovaara fabrics.

During her career, Metsovaara collaborated with numerous players in the textile industry, such as Finnrya, Finn Flare and Tampella; partners in the furniture and design industry included Cassina, Knoll and Ligne Roset, among others.
