Kanji pendant lamp by FontanaArte combines harmonious aesthetics from the Far East with skilful Italian design traditions. Designed by Denis Guidone in 2017, the Kanji lamps have references to Chinese porcelain items from the Ming dynasty, but instead of porcelain, their pleated lampshades are made of handblown glass. A LED ring running inside the structure gives the lamp a soft and pleasant glow, and a black metal ring on top complements the design. Kanji lamps add magical ambience to any room, either alone or in clusters.

Designer
Italian designer Denis Guidone (b. 1977) finds his inspiration from the beauty that arises in the dialogue between different cultures. Guidone divides his time between architecture and design, commuting between Milan and Tokyo. Fascinated by the contrasts between the East and the West, he merges the aesthetics of these two extremes with unconventional and strict precision into an elegant, eye-catching appearance. Guidone has won international design awards, including the IDA Design Award and Bruno Munari Prize and was selected for the ADI Design Index 2010. In 2018, he was elected by Triennale of Milan and by Ministry of Foreign Affairs as ambassador of Italian design in the world.
