Description

Mater’s beautiful Terho pendant lights were designed by Finnish designer Maija Puoskari. She often draws her inspiration from nature, which is evident in the organic form of Terho, Finnish for acorn. The top of the lamp is crafted from FSC certified linden wood and the dome is glass, mouth-blown in Poland. The union of tinted glass and black-coated wood is fresh and appealing. The Terho pendants look great hung individually and in clusters and go well with the Liuku pendants, also designed by Puoskari.

Maija Puoskari

Maija Puoskari was born in Tornio, northern Finland, and runs today her own design studio in Kallio, Helsinki. Her work is characterized by a strong sense of pure form mixed with functionality. The clean and wild Finnish nature has been the inspiration behind several of Puoskari’s works: the Terho pendant lights for the Danish brand Mater are a great example.
