Mattila & Merz

Mattila & Merz is a Finnish architect and design agency founded by Laura Mattila (born 1984) and Mikko Merz (born 1975). Based in both Helsinki and Fiskars, the duo specialises in wood, creating products, furniture, spaces or buildings in which wood is often the main material. Whether designing wooden furniture for brands such as Nikari or the interiors of restaurants in Helsinki, the work of Mattila & Merz is characterised by simplicity, timelessness and respect for history and traditions.
