The Saimaannorppa wool blanket by Lapuan Kankurit is adorned with Kaarina Tiainen’s graphic, white-gray pattern that mimics the spots of the Saimaa ringed seal, an endangered seal living only in Lake Saimaa, Finland. Finished with sewn edges, the pleasantly soft blanket is made of mulesing-free New Zealand wool in Lapuan Kankurit's sewing company in Finland.
With the Saimaannorppa collection, Lapuan Kankurit participates in protecting the endangered seal: for every sold blanket, 4,05 € is donated to the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation for the protection of the Saimaa ringed seal. The products of the collection have a woven Save the Saimaa Ringed Seal logo.
