The Marimekko Ruudut cotton fabric features a collage-like pattern composed of sketches by Erja Hirvi, Maija Louekari, Anna-Maija Metsola and Jenni Tuominen. Each designer was given the task of creating an abstract nature-themed pattern that should be implemented with the paper-cutting technique. The end result is a fun grid that perfectly embodies the diversity of Marimekko's pattern designs.
The heavyweight cotton fabric is printed in Helsinki, Finland. Some of the cotton used for the fabric is recycled, and it has been printed using a mix of surplus dyes from Marimekko’s own printing factory – the colour of the print may vary according to the leftover dyes available at any given time. Please note that the colour may therefore vary from pictured.
