The Solo Seat by Valerie Objects is dominated by geometry, visual lightness and the impression of transparency. Designed by Muller Van Severen in 2012, the Solo Seat consists of just two elements: a geometric metal frame and a simple leather seat that seems to float in the air in the center of the geometric body. The design studio aimed to create a minimalist seat that would not cover the space around it, but would still be a visually interesting element in the interior of the living room or wherever it is placed. Additionally, the leather seat will develop a beautiful patina over time, adding to the unique nature of the design.

Muller Van Severen

Muller Van Severen, founded in 2011, is a collaboration of two Belgian designers, Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen, balancing somewhere between art and design. The two are known for their sculptural and interesting designs that convey their love for carefully selected high-quality materials – which often are the starting point for the duo’s designs. Although careful research is essential for Muller Van Severen, the duo's designs are often so minimalistic and simple, naive even, that one could easily think they were sketched up completely intuitively.
