Description

The soulful look of Rama chair by the Danish design company OX Denmarq is created by a gentle combination of American oak wood and natural leather. Designed by Dennis Marquart, Rama chair is meant to live and change with time. The seat, made of strong vegetable tanned leather will develop a deep, beautiful patina and a softer surface as it gets older. Leather and wood are materials that will age in an individual way, and therefore every Rama chair makes a fully unique design piece. Timelessly elegant Rama chair finds its place by the fireplace, at the office or under a reading light, for instance. The organic combination of leather and wood surfaces represent the old traditions of Scandinavian design, and the clean, minimalistic lines give the chair a fresh, modern soul. The Rama chair fits seamlessly into contemporary décor and goes well together with older design classics as well. Handmade by skillful Danish craftsmen, the Rama chair is a piece of art that will only get better with age.

Dennis Marquart

Dennis Marquart, co-founder of the Danish design company OX Denmarq, is known for his attraction to plain forms and combinations of various different materials. Besides studying furniture design at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art, Marquart has also studied in Japan and China. The Asian influence is visible in his work as aesthetics of simplicity and precision, which fit seamlessly together with the traditions of Scandinavian design. In the collections of OX Denmarq, classic and strong materials such as leather, wood and steel take modern and light forms together. A fine example is the O Table, in which marble and steel combine into an airy and fresh design.
