    2. Organiser

    The competition is organised by Finnish Design Shop Oy Ltd, Iso-Heikkiläntie 6, 20200 Turku, Finland (hereinafter referred to as Finnish Design Shop).

    3. Competition purpose

    FDS Influencer Awards reward and highlight the most inspiring online content and its creators within the fields of design and interiors. With the competition Finnish Design Shop seeks to draw attention to both budding talent and more prominent influencers that share the following company values: appreciation of timeless and high-quality design, the pursuit of equality and a more sustainable way of living, as well as the enthusiasm to share joy worldwide through inspirational content.

    4. Eligibility

    Candidates must have a public social media profile that focuses fully or in part on design and/or interiors. Entries are accepted from both individuals and collectives. The profile must be active and operate on one or more of the following channels: Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Facebook, any blog platform, or TikTok.

    The candidates must be at least 18 years old or have appropriate guardian’s consent for participating in the competition. Finnish Design Shop employees and profiles linked to any other business cannot take part in the competition.

    5. Award categories and prizes

    A total of 10,000.00 euros will be awarded to five winners. Please note that FDS reserves the right to withhold any statutory taxes from the prize sum, as applicable.

    • Design Influencer of the Year: 4,000 euros
    • Community Favourite: 1,500 euros
    • Rising Star: 1,500 euros
    • Most Visual Influencer: 1,500 euros
    • Most Engaging Influencer: 1,500 euros

    The jury may by a unanimous decision award the prize sum in a different manner.

    6. Phases of the competition

    The competition proceeds in the phases outlined below.

    6.1. Nominations: 12–18 March 2021

    Anyone can nominate an influencer to be considered for the competition, including influencers themselves. Nominated profiles must comply with the requirements outlined in section 4. All nominations must be submitted by 11.59 pm (GMT +2) on 18 March 2021.

    Once the nomination phase has ended, the Finnish Design Shop team will curate a shortlist of content creators for both the public and jury vote. The shortlisted content creators are required to create an award candidate profile in order to be included to the designated voting page and to be able to win the competition. The award candidate profile will be visible for the public. All shortlisted profiles that have created an award candidate profile (“profile”) will be eligible for each award category introduced in section 5.

    6.2. Public vote: 30 March – 12 April 2021

    Anyone can vote for their best-loved profile via the designated voting page. The profile with the most votes will receive the Community Favourite award. One vote per individual is permitted. All votes must be submitted by 11.59 pm (GMT +2) on 12 April 2021.

    6.3. Announcements: 20 April 2021

    Finnish Design Shop will announce the FDS Influencer Awards winners on its website, newsletter, and social media channels. The winners will be contacted via email. If the winner does not respond to FDS’ email within five (5) days, the winner forfeits the prize and Finnish Design Shop reserves the right to determine a new winner for the category in question. If a winner is under 18 years of age, their legal guardian will be contacted on their behalf. Where applicable, the winner shall be responsible for paying any applicable local taxes and submitting required tax declarations

    7. Evaluation criteria

    The jury members appointed by Finnish Design Shop will determine the winners of the jury awards based on the following criteria:

    • Overall creativity and variety of content
    • Quality of visual and textual elements
    • Types and level of engagement with followers
    • Curation of authentic, lasting and aesthetically pleasing designs
    • Originality and integrity of content

    8. Prize draw for nominators

    A total of five Finnish Design Shop eGift Cards, each with a value of 200 euros, will be drawn at random between all those who have nominated an influencer profile and entered their email address during the first phase (12–18 March 2021), outlined in section 6.1.

    The draw will be carried out on 23 March 2021. Winners will be contacted via email. If the winner does not respond to FDS’ email within five (5) days, the winner forfeits the prize and Finnish Design Shop reserves the right to carry out a new draw. If the winner is under 18 years of age, their legal guardian will be contacted on their behalf.

    Prizes cannot be transferred, redeemed for cash, or substituted by any winner. Finnish Design Shop undertakes to pay any statutory lottery taxes for the prize draw of the five Finnish Design Shop eGift Cards.

    9. Prize draw for voters

    A total of five Finnish Design Shop eGift Cards, each with a value of 200 euros, will be drawn at random between all those who have voted for an influencer profile and entered their email address during the second phase (30 March – 12 April 2021), outlined in section 6.2.

    The draw will be carried out on 15 April 2021. Winners will be contacted via email. If the winner does not respond to FDS’ email within five (5) days, the winner forfeits the prize and Finnish Design Shop reserves the right to carry out a new draw. If the winner is under 18 years of age, their legal guardian will be contacted on their behalf.

    Prizes cannot be transferred, redeemed for cash, or substituted by any winner. Finnish Design Shop undertakes to pay any statutory lottery taxes for the prize draw of the five Finnish Design Shop eGift Cards.

    10. Privacy policy

    By nominating an influencer, casting a vote or creating an award candidate profile, you agree to the rules of the competition and the processing of the personal data included in the forms. Read our privacy policy for more on how we process users’ personal data.

    11. Liability

    Finnish Design Shop will not be liable for any technical errors in the nomination process or creation of an award candidate profile nor for any costs related to accepting, receiving and using the prize (except for the lottery tax with regard to the Finnish Design Shop eGift Cards, outlined in sections 8 and 9). The maximum liability of Finnish Design Shop under the competition and these rules is limited to EUR 1,000. Indirect and consequential damages are excluded from Finnish Design Shop’s liability.

    12. General

    Any profiles suspected of fraudulent behaviour or breaching these rules will be disqualified from the competition without prior notice. Finnish Design Shop reserves the right to make changes to the rules of the competition.
