Stilleben | Tableware

Stilleben is a Danish design company and store founded by Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft. The designers met while studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and noticed that they shared a passion for fine craftsmanship and peculiar objects. With a wide selection of in-house design and handpicked objects from all over the world, the first Stilleben store was opened in Copenhagen in 2002. The duo is especially famous for their handmade ceramic designs, and they are co-owners of a local ceramic factory. Stilleben has also designed products for brands such as Georg Jensen, Skagerak and Kähler.

Choose your favorite tablecloths, placemats, and napkins from our selection of table linens. These will become the backdrop for your dishes, glasses, and cutlery. Whether you choose to use a patterned tablecloth or no tablecloth, treat this as the foundation for the rest of your decoration. You can build from there. Keep in mind any other home decoration in the room.

What kind of tablecloth or placemats to use:

• For special occasions, a seasonal or patterned tablecloth is a simple way to create your preferred atmosphere
• Simple tablecloths can be used to draw attention to patterned dishes or ornate flatware
• If you own a dining table in lacquered oak or walnut or have a two-color table by Hay, your table could be the focal point for your tableware. In this case, forego the tablecloth use placemats.
