Manuel Valls Vergés

Manuel Valls Vergés (1912–2000) was a Spanish architect who is considered one of the greatest architects in postwar Spain. Originally a medicine student, Vergés ended up studying architecture after seeing a pavilion designed by Mies Van der Rohe at the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition. He graduated as an architect in 1940 and co-founded an architectural firm together with his colleague Jose Antonio Coderch. Vergés was awarded the FAD Architecture Prize in 1960 and the Gold Medal by the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC) in 1982.
