Description

FDB Møbler’s B98 bookcase is a conveniently sized open shelf made of lacquered solid oak. Designed by Mogens Koch and first released in 1944, the B98 collection is based on modular, multifunctional shelves that can be used either individually or in groups, vertically or horizontally, mounted on the wall or freestanding on the floor – the choice is yours.

With its sleek, simple and timeless design, the B98 bookcase has a myriad of different uses: you can use it as a bookshelf or TV stand in the living room, for storing jars and tableware in the kitchen, as a wall shelf in the office, or as a nightstand in the bedroom. The shelf has pre-drilled holes for wall mounting.

Mogens Koch

Mogens Koch (1898–1992) was a Danish architect and designer whose best-known works include popular modular shelving systems and the Folding Chair from 1933. Koch was a student of the legendary Danish designer Kaare Klint, who encouraged him to experiment with different fields of design, ranging from buildings and furniture to silverware and type fonts. After graduating, Koch worked for Kaare Klint until opening his own studio in 1934, and later he also served as a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. During his career, Koch received several prestigious recognitions, such as the Eckersberg Medal in 1938 and the C. F. Hansen Medal in 1963.
