Description

Marset's Hazy Day is a delicate, almost poetic pendant lamp designed by German designer Uli Budde. The luminaire is characterised by an ethereal look that arises from the encounter of two different types of glass: the upper part of the lamp is sandblasted for a frosty matt finish, while the lower part is clear and completely transparent.

The inspiration for the design comes from the magical time of day when the sun is yet to rise and light is filtered through morning mist – just as the hazy light of the morning slowly becomes brighter and brighter as the sun rises, the frosted surface of the lamp fades down towards the clear glass and a small curvature at the bottom of the glass shade. The latter detail makes the light source behind the glass even more reminiscent of the sun rising on the horizon, but at the same time, it also breaks up the geometric design language of the luminaire and emphasizes its method of manufacture, glassblowing.
