Description

Finarte's Pear rug is an irregularly shaped wool carpet with different contours, silhouettes and colours blending fascinatingly as if you were looking at a carpet through a kaleidoscope. Unique shapes encourage you to take a longer look and search for familiar figures from the pattern – what do your eyes see on the mat's surface? The Pear carpet is part of the Blending collection, designed by Minni Havas, which focuses on blending, mixing, and combining shapes, patterns, colours and ideas together. The visually striking world is created by intense colours and abstract elements that look familiar and imaginatively bizarre at the same time. 

The luxurious wool rug is made in India, where it is hand tufted by skilled artisans. The cotton backing gives the carpet a robust look. Like other Finarte rugs, the Pear comes with a QR code that you can scan to trace the journey of the rug from material to the final product.

Minni Havas

Minni Havas (born 1983) is a Finnish illustrator and textile designer, who is especially known for her photorealistic fashion illustrations and the patterns she designs for fashion and interior design brands. Havas studied fashion design at Aalto University, and or a few years after graduating, she ran her own clothing brand Minni f. Ronya together with her colleague Anne Törnroos. Since then, Havas has collaborated with Finnish brands like Finarte, Vimma and Minna Parikka, as well as the French fashion house Maison Margiela.
