Description

Kartell's Componibili Recycled is made of sustainable, recycled materials obtained from a variety of sectors, such as the furnishing and automotive industries. Unlike the original Componibili, this version has a matte finish that feels soft and velvety to the touch.

Designed in 1969 by Anna Castelli Ferrieri, the Componibili storage unit by Kartell is a design classic that keeps on charming new friends even as the years go by. The storage unit is suitable for various uses and it fits all kinds of decors – place it in the bedroom, living room, kitchen or even in the bathroom or balcony! Componibili was designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri and it has been rolled into the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Center Georges Pompidou in Paris.

Anna Castelli Ferrieri

The Italian architect and industrial designer Anna Castelli Ferrieri was the first woman to graduate from the prestigious Polytechnic of Milan. In the year 1949 she founded Kartell, together with her husband Giulio Castelli, in order to produce high-quality design products out of plastic.

Before this, she had also founded her own architecture practice, which made projects in Milan, Turin and Genoa. An important project was also the designing of the headquarters of Kartell in Binasco. From the year 1966 onward she started designing products for Kartell and in 1976 she became the Art Director of the company. One of her best known designs is the Componibili storage unit.
