Marika Maijala

Marika Maijala is a Helsinki-based illustrator who is known for her sweet and imaginative illustrations, which often portray adventures in the nature and cities of Finland. Maijala has illustrated numerous Finnish children’s books and her work has been published also abroad. In 2009 she was awarded with the Rudolf Koivu prize for the best Finnish children's book illustration and her work has been listed in the White Ravens List of children’s literature. In Finnish design, Maijala’s work can be found for example in the calendar towels of Kauniste.
