Description

OffCuts Bag no 1 is the perfect tote bag for shopping and a variety of other daily uses. Finished with a brass push button, the shopper has a small pocket inside for your keys, phone or wallet.

Bag no 1 is part of Form & Refine’s OffCuts collection featuring products made of leftover materials from the wood and textile industry: it is crafted from leftover fabric and leather from premium companies Kvadrat and Sorensen Leather. With the OffCuts collection, Form & Refine aim to show respect and appreciation to high-quality materials and prevent them from going to waste.

OffCuts bags are handmade in collaboration with the Hans Knudsen Institute in Copenhagen. The institute’s social workshop helps create work fo those who, for various reasons, have faced difficulties in the job market. Each bag is produced in a limited edition of 150 pieces and, online, they are only available at Finnish Design Shop.

Herman Studio

Herman Studio is a Danish design office specializing in furniture and interior design. It was founded in 2011 by Helle Herman Mortensen, who has studied Industrial Design at Aalborg University, and Jonas Herman Pedersen, who specialized in furniture and space design at Aarhus School of Architecture. In their designs, Mortensen emphasizes storytelling and multitude of perspectives, and Pedersen is fascinated by production methods and the holistic manufacturing process from raw material to the final product. The duo’s design are often finely balanced combinations of elegant and powerful elements with room for quirky details and surprises, too.
