Description

The Rose chair by Massproductions is made entirely of wood. The idea for the lounge chair was born when designer Chris Martin wanted to explore the possibilities and limitations of the material. The armchair consists of only four bent oak panels and does not need any screws or metal parts to hold it together. The skilfully crafted chair captivates the viewer with its perfect geometry and balance – and at the same time surprises the sitter with its comfort.

The Rose lounge chair is certified with Möbelfakta, the Swedish sustainability and quality label, which indicates that the chair meets the requirements for furniture used in public spaces. The strong and durable Rose chair is ideal for hotel lobbies, restaurants, and office workspaces, but is also a charming addition to the home living room. The certified wood used in the chair comes from Småland, Sweden.

Chris Martin

The British designer Chris Martin moved to Stockholm to do freelance work for IKEA. However, Martin wanted to change his work to a more sustainable and quality-driven direction, so that there would be fewer filters between him and the final product. He met the Swedish designer Magnus Elebäck and together they founded the furniture company Massproductions in 2009.

For Massproductions, Martin designs products in a traditional Nordic way, without forgetting to add in elements from other cultures, as well. His design work is characterised by his ability to unite functionality with an innovative, even artistic appearance. In 2020, Martin was awarded with the prestigious Bruno Mathsson Prize.
