Description

The Marimekko Seireeni teapot features an abstract motif designed by Maija Isola in 1964. She created the pattern after a trip to Greece, where she felt inspired by the movements of the sea. The name of the pattern, which translates to “siren”, is a reference to Greek mythology: sirens were creatures thought to lure sailors to shipwreck with their beautiful singing.

Made of brown stoneware, the Seireeni teapot is part of Sami Ruotsalainen’s clean-lined Oiva tableware collection that suits both casual and festive settings. The teapot has a capacity of 7 dl, and it features a beautiful wooden handle and knob, as well as a ceramic strainer on the inside.
