The savior of cloudy days and hero of late garden dinners is here! Louis Poulsen’s iconic Radiohus lamp, originally designed for Copenhagen’s Radio House, is now available in a portable version. This powerful glowing orb enchants with its radiant light in both indoor and outdoor spaces.
LOUIS POULSEN'S VL45 Radiohus pendant was created in the 1940s for Copenhagen’s iconic Radio House. Designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen, a pioneer of Danish functionalism, both the lamp and the building embody his timeless approach to form and function.
Lauritzen’s famous motto, “No life without aesthetics,” captures his belief in the power of design to enhance everyday experiences. For him, architecture and design were more than just disciplines – they were ways of seamlessly weaving art into daily life.
The same artistic vision is evident in the elegant Radiohus lamp, now reimagined as a portable version. The cordless table lamp features the familiar round, mouth-blown glass shade that gently diffuses soft and glare-free light across the room.
The lamp is available in three different colors so there are sure to be a perfect match for any interior. Though, we must admit that it’s tempting to collect these delicate beauties in every shade!
The portable VL45 Radiohus lamp comes with a dimmer function so you can adjust the light intensity to perfectly match the space, need, and mood. On its brightest setting, the lamp provides up to five hours of light. When the battery runs low, simply recharge the luminaire with the included USB-C cable.
