3 Days of Design 2025: Postcards from Copenhagen

Our photographer hit the streets of Copenhagen to capture the mood of 3 Days of Design, held in June 2025. Known to friends as “3DoD,” the event has quickly become the most exciting and inspiring design fair in the Nordics, where brands reveal their latest launches and creative collabs. Naturally, the Finnish Design Shop team was there – take a stroll through the city with us!

Artek + Marimekko in Copenhagen
Finnish favorites Artek and Marimekko joined forces in Copenhagen to unveil a collaborative furniture collection, created as part of Artek’s 90th anniversary celebrations.

The conceptual exhibition on display at Marimekko’s Copenhagen flagship store was created in collaboration with Finnish designer Linda Bergroth.

The Artek + Marimekko collection features a curated selection of Aalto furniture, combining Marimekko’s signature patterns with Artek’s mastery of bent wood. The collection will launch on September 4, 2025.

Baina textiles
Bailey Meredith, co-founder of the Australian textile brand Baina, shared insights into the brand’s products.

Baina’s terry Josephine hand towel features a classic two-tone checkerboard pattern that exudes a sense of nostalgic luxury.

Ferm Living Dapple Bar
Ferm Living brought its Dapple outdoor furniture to Kongens Nytorv, where the Dapple Bar served coffee and refreshments to design week visitors.

GUBI F300
GUBI’s F300 lounge chair and T877 coffee table are classic designs from the 1960s by French designer Pierre Paulin, recently reissued for a new generation.

During 3 Days of Design, GUBI’s Copenhagen showroom buzzed with energy and inspiring encounters.
Tynell 9602 floor lamp, Garro Éditions
The linen shade of the Tynell 9602 floor lamp was created in collaboration with French textile brand Garro Éditions. The spotlight is on a delicate illustration by Henry Moore, where circus horses drawn in fine black lines appear to wait patiently in the wings.

Mette Hay
HAY House was, as always, filled with seasonal novelties. The Finnish Design Shop team was especially taken with the La Pittura tableware collection by Emma Kohlmann, presented by Mette Hay (left) together with the artist herself.

Emma Kohlmann, collaborating with HAY for the first time, is an American artist. The La Pittura collection features hand-painted ceramic pieces that blend art, creativity, and functionality in a joyful way.

Hem Palma pouf
New from Hem: the Palma poufs by British-born, Ghanaian designer Kusheda Mensah, available in a range of colors.

Hem continued its 10th anniversary celebrations in Copenhagen, showcasing both familiar favorites from its spring Milan exhibition and fresh releases – including the Palma poufs.

Iittala
Iittala offered a first glimpse of its Fall/Winter 2025 collection and color palette during the event in Copenhagen.

Iittala’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection explores light, material, and form through a fresh lens. Highlights include Harri Koskinen’s Solare glassware in rich autumnal hues.

Moderno chairs by Yrjö Kukkapuro
Danish designer Stine Goya (left) teamed up with Ida Kukkapuro to reinterpret Yrjö Kukkapuro’s iconic Moderno chair series. The chairs are produced by Lepo Product.

The Moderno chairs and stools are upholstered in striped fabrics designed by Stine Goya, developed in collaboration with Finnish textile manufacturer Annala.

Tekla
Tekla’s exhibition, titled Modern Romance, was created in collaboration with architecture studio Mentze Ottenstein and took place at Charlottenborg.

Tekla’s romantic bedding was inspired by traditional lace-trimmed and heirloom sheets.

Vaarnii
Antti Hirvonen (right), co-founder of Vaarnii, joined Kvadrat CEO Anders Byriel and designer Ronan Bouroullec for a conversation.

Muller van Severen
The design duo Muller Van Severen is known for their masterful use of color. Among their signature pieces is the Hanging Lamp lighting series for valerie_objects.

The Hanging Lamp with a chrome frame by valerie_objects will be available at Finnish Design Shop this fall.

The Alu Chair’s crisp color combo is unmistakably Muller Van Severen.

Petra Hotel in Copenhagen
Copenhagen’s hotel scene has long been in need of fresh options – and now there’s a new one to know. Petra, a boutique hotel curated by &Tradition’s design team, is housed in a Kay Fisker–designed building in the heart of the city. The hotel features a bar, a restaurant, and 40 thoughtfully decorated rooms that blend comfort with character.
&Tradition Mist lamp
All the Way to Paris designed the elegant Mist lighting collection for &Tradition. The small table lamp pictured is portable.
