Description

Tres elementos by Costa Rican artist Fabio Herrera is a mixed-media print characterized by a strong, three-dimensional presence. The piece features rough, structured surfaces created with the carborundum technique and vivid colours on a neutral background, covering the entire paper up to its hand-torn edges. Created in 1998, Tres elementos is a numbered piece belonging to an edition of 75 prints. The work features the artist’s hand-written signature.

Fabio Herrera

Fabio Herrera is considered one of the most acclaimed Costa Rican artists of his generation. Born 1954 in San José, Herrera studied fine arts at University of Costa Rica. In his work, Herrera ventures into various mediums such as engraving, painting, watercolour and woodcut. Herrera’s career has been diverse, prolific and constant – his works have been exhibited in over 100 solo exhibitions and hundreds of collective exhibitions all over the world. His work has been exhibited in galleries such as the Joan Prats Gallery in New York and Galeria Alternativa Ventramas in Costa Rica.
