Ineke Hans

Ineke Hans (born 1966) is an internationally renowned Dutch designer, who studied product design in her homeland and received her MA in Furniture Design from the Royal College of Art in London in 1995. She established STUDIO|INEKEHANS in the Netherlands three years later.

Hans is interested in carrying out projects suitable for new living habits and current and traditional production methods. She examines the psychological roots of products and the interaction between people, objects and space in an intelligent and playful way.

Her best-known designs are Ahrend’s 380 chair and Royal VKB’s garlic crusher and Offect’s Smallroom, which were granted the Red Dot Award. Ineke Hans has also designed for Arco, Cappellini, Iittala, Magis and SCP and her designs can be found in London’s V&A Museum, Amsterdam’s Stedeljik Museum and Art Institute of Chicago.
