David Chipperfield (b. 1953 in London) is an internationally acclaimed architect and designer. He is particularly known for is achievements in architecture, but he has also designed furniture and lamps, among other things, for several companies. His multiple awards include e.g. the RIBA Gold Metal for lifetime achievement and the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture, Mies van Der Rohe award. In 2010 he was also knighted as recognition of his work in architecture. David Chipperfield Architects has offices in London, Berlin, Milan and Shanghai.
