Carl Hansen & Søn is a family-run Danish company specializing in classic wooden furniture. The story of Carl Hansen & Søn dates back to 1908 when Danish cabinetmaker Carl Hansen established a small furniture workshop on the island of Funen. Since the beginning, the finest Danish craftsmanship and collaborations with skilful designers have been the company's two main principles. Carl Hansen & Søn is known especially for a long-term relationship with Hans J. Wegner, the designer of the iconic Wishbone chair, as well as collaborations with other mid-century Danish designers, such as Arne Jacobsen, Børge Mogensen, Ole Wanscher and Kaare Klint. Besides preserving Danish design classics, Carl Hansen & Søn also works with interesting contemporary designers.

What is the difference between an ottoman and a pouf?
The main difference between an ottoman and a pouf is that ottomans are often firmer and larger than more cushion-like poufs. Ottomans might even have small legs, whereas poufs are usually in direct contact with the floor. If you are able to use it as a small table with a tray, we’re probably talking about an ottoman.
What's the purpose of a pouf?
Poufs can have a range of different purposes, but most often they are used as footstools next to a sofa or armchair or as extra seats in a living room or lobby. Soft and lightweight poufs are easy to carry from one room to another when needed, and some poufs might resemble floor cushions or small bean bag chairs.
