Description

HAY’s coffee pot, designed by George Sowden, catches the eye with a delightful combination of retro look and modern design. The pot features a colourful porcelain exterior, plastic lid and an innovative SoftBrew device with a stainless steel filter to get the best flavours out of coffee beans. You simply need to add grounded coffee beans into the metallic filter, add boiling water and let the coffee brew from 4 to 8 minutes.

The Kitchen Market collection from HAY combines Danish design with global influences. It features distinct kitchenware in diverse ranges of textures and colours.

This is a gorgeous pot, though not as functional as it could be. We find we have to heat it with a little boiling water beforehand or the coffee loses heat. Also, if you want two mugs of strong coffee you have to fill it in two steps and then wait, as it takes awhile to filter. But it's easier than a plunger and such a good-looking pot that we forgive it. :-) The colours hit you in the heart, though the top is (surprisingly) plastic.
