The Plopp stool is composed of two ultra thin steel plates cut into the desired shape and welded around the edges. Finally air under high pressure is shot into the unit causing an expansion into the desired shape. The idea is to make a light construction which is easily mass produced but with a unique result where every single piece of furniture is a one of a kind sculpture. Using this technology a new piece of steel furniture is created which in its form refers to plastic furniture but with the solidity and wearing qualities of steel.
