Yki Nummi

The multitalented designer Yki Nummi (1925-1984) was born in China to a missionary family. Later on, he studied in Finland and after graduating from University of Art and Design Helsinki, he was hired as a lamp designer for Orno. Art represents European designs in the permanent collection of New York MoMA. Skyflier, designed in 1960, was awarded in Milano Triennale in the year of its launch. Yki Nummi lamps are still manufactured in Finland.
